It is my deep privilege to work with people in many different areas of their lives.  I provide life coaching for individuals and couples and leadership coaching for physicians and executives in healthcare as well as other industries.  I also provide workshops and programs (in person and virtually) to open the lines of communication, resolve interpersonal conflict, increase productivity and personal enjoyment as well as overall business success.

A little bit about my background:  After serving as a Vice President in a Houston Commercial Real Estate firm and then as a manager and seminar leader leading communication and performance seminars for est, an international Educational Corporation founded by Werner Erhard, I took a brief hiatus for starting a family.  It was then in 1986 when I was unexpectedly asked by friends, a married couple I had known for some time, to coach them on their communication and relationship.  At the end of the first session, they said our conversation had made a bigger difference than their work with three different marriage counselors.  I was thrilled.  They went on to encourage me to start a coaching business.  Within six month I had business cards and an office.  My coaching expanded to include couples, individuals and inside organizations.  My business took off and has continued to expand strictly by client referrals.

I strongly believe that deep down people want to give their best and make a difference.  When that isn’t happening, it’s a matter of discovering the block, dismantling it and designing a new future.

I have had the opportunity to work with thousands of people over the years and consider it a unique privilege to be invited into people’s lives and then have them use our conversations to take themselves to the next level!  I have worked with individuals, couples, startup companies and in several industries, with a primary focus in healthcare.

It was a gift to co-write the book The Art of Medical Leadership with Scott Conard, MD along with my daughter, Nicole Oran in 2014. This is a collection of leadership distinctions and concepts for executive and operation team members, physicians, practice managers, nurses and medical staff.

We also offer The Art of Medical Leadership as an online program and as a video series facilitated by Nicole, who is a Certified Life Coach.  Participants roll up their sleeves and intentionally apply the teachings to impact their area of healthcare.  The purpose of the program is to have your medical group achieve a new level of success in the areas of: Patient Satisfaction, Employee Satisfaction, Operational Efficiency and Profitability.

Previously, I served as the Vice President of Leadership Development for MedicalEdge Healthcare Group and PhyServe Physician Management Group where I provided workshops and coaching throughout the organizations including the senior leadership team, physicians and clinic staff.

I also had the opportunity to be a national speaker for AbbVie Pharmaceuticals.  I presented programs to support and empower physicians and medical staff in fine-tuning their communication and relationship skills so that they can make the biggest impact possible with their patients by improving the patient experience and increasing treatment adherence.

I also love being involved in raising money for charities.  I have enjoyed being a leader and supporter of fundraising events that have raised over $0.5 million for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Currently I live in Pittsburgh with my best friend, my husband Haluk.  We married in 1982 and have two amazing children, Paul and Nicole.  I have the profound privilege of working and collaborating with them both!

Scott Conard, MD

Dr. Scott Conard and Suzan Oran co-wrote The Art of Medical Leadership book about a shift in mindset and transition to team based care for medical groups.  The book was released in November 2014.  They then lauched The Art of Medical Leadership program in January 2015 where participants directly apply the distinctions and concepts from the book to take themselves to a new level of leadership and increase the positive impact they have in their area of healthcare.

Scott's life’s mission is to add years to your life and life to your years by empowering you to take control of your health. This began in 1996 when three of his patients, all in their 40’s, died suddenly within a few days of visiting him.  “Come see me when you feel ill,” evolved to “let’s figure out your health risk and lower it.”  To achieve this he became a diabetes educator, certified in bariatrics and sleep medicine, and founded workplace wellness programs. 

But ultimately patients hold the real power.  In 2003 to empower, support and motivate this change they became TienaHealth  (whole and complete physical, mental, social, financial, and spiritual support) and embraced Holistic and Integrative Medicine.   They created books – The Seven Healers, Numbers, People, and Weight Loss the Jabez Way – to touch, move, and inspire their patients,

Success followed – they grew from serving <10K to >50K patients and founded a management, research, sleep, worksite wellness, and medical equipment company.  

Soon a wonderful opportunity to become the Chief Medical and Strategy Officer position at MedicalEdge appeard.  Growing from clinician/entrepreneur to corporate executive occurred as they scaled the corporation from 180 offices/ 343 providers – to 240 offices/ 510 provider in 4 years.  Re-framing care from reactive to proactive resulted in a $16 per PEPM for all patients and a $100 PEPM for people with diabetes savings in over 1M patients and in increased quality, safety, & patients satisfaction.  Those paying for health care were pleased and rewarded the group.  A major hospital also took note and they sold in 2010.  

Currently Dr. Conard works with medical groups, brokers, and employers to accelerate the demand and delivery of value based healthcare.  In addition he sits on corporate boards and speaks on health transformation and the future of medicine.

Nicole Oran

I've had the pleasure of working with Suzan Oran & Associates in various ways since 2014. 

That work and my mom’s example led me to completing a Life Coaching Certification program in October 2019, which I'm truly thrilled about. ​

But before setting my sights on working as a coach and starting my own business, I received my bachelor's degree in philosophy from Arizona State University and later completed my master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. 

A deep interest in the importance of effective communication that supports people in being open and expressing themselves has been present for me throughout my life. My love for writing and interest in my mom's business went hand in hand when I was given the opportunity to help her and Scott Conard, MD write the book The Art of Medical Leadership in 2014. 

Currently, I provide life coaching for individuals.  I provide professional coaching, team building and customer service programs inside organizations.  I also facilitate the Life Design program.

I have a deep commitment to people being empowered in their lives by being informed, educated and supported. All of my life experiences and using all that I teach, have led me to where I am now, fully committed to be an advocate for others and being the very best coach I can be!

Mary Sallee

Mary Sallee began her collaboration with Suzan Oran and Associates in 2015 where she leads The Art of Life Design program.

Mary is an executive and small business coach.  She launched her coaching business in January 2015 where she offers one-on-one and small group coaching sessions to empower people to overcome obstacles on their path of achieving high performance.

Mary specializes in individuals transitioning into leadership positions, or those exploring new careers as freelancers or entrepreneurs, where self-motivation, goal setting, and strategic vision demand creativity and self-confidence.

Originally from the US, she has worked in a wide variety of countries across a number of continents and is adept at navigating change and uncertainty in search of a broader goal. She especially enjoys sharing her experience and working with individuals who aspire to live abroad, ready to embrace the challenge in return for the excitement that comes with adapting oneself to another culture.

Her cross-cultural experience has also helped her develop a high level of integrative complexity, or the ability to recognize and integrate multiple perspectives and possibilities and their interrelated contingencies.

Mary currently delivers business training and coaching to Keller Williams UK, working with property advisors in London focused on growing their businesses to the next level.

Previously, Mary served as an Online Communications Executive for Phillip Morris International in Lausanne, Switzerland where she led a global company-wide project to redesign and relaunch the corporate website in 13 languages. Before that, Mary worked with the education team at Keller Williams Realty, Intl. to bring the leadership-training curriculum to KW leaders across North America.

Mary received her BS in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and her MBA at INSEAD in Singapore.

Jane Vesel, DNP, CNM

Jane Vesel began her practice as a Certified Nurse Midwife in 1993 and holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.

She is pleased to now facilitate The Art of Medical Leadership program and sees this as a unique opportunity for midwives and nurses to enhance their collaborative practice skills.

Jane served twenty-seven years in the US Air Force and retired as a Colonel in 2012.  While on active duty she practiced midwifery and was the top administrator for numerous Obstetrical and specialty medical clinics.  In addition, Jane served in several executive leadership roles in the military medical system.

Currently, Jane practices as senior nurse-midwife and clinical advisor at Scott Air Force Base Illinois.  She is honored to continue teaching nurse practitioner and medical resident students.

She is also studying prenatal yoga and hopes to open her own midwifery labor-coaching center in the future.

She has a deep belief that the mind-body-spirit connection is vital to the outcome to everything in our lives!

Alyssa McManamon, MD

Dr. McManamon began her collaboration with Suzan Oran and Associates in 2015 where she leads The Art of Medical Leadership program.

Alyssa’s interest in facilitating The Art of Medical Leadership program is informed by over 20 years in clinical practice as both an internist and a hematologist-oncologist.

Dr. McManamon's focus is on self-preservation of the care provider and team in the midst of offering person-centered care.

It is her pleasure to walk with you through The Art of Medical Leadership as she believes, as paraphrased from the author Richard Bach, “We teach what we need to learn.”
